What is I Hate Movie Reviews all about?

It's simple. I love movies and I watch a lot of them. I started this blog to try and better my understanding of the most popular form of storytelling we follow of today.

With so many movies, genre's, sub-genres, re-makes, re-imaginings and with so many different ways to experience movies the ultimate question has to be, "is it worth my time"?

I do my best to keep my reviews short, focused, and easy to follow as I try and answer that very important question.

Why shouldn't we think a little more about where all of our money and time goes and why it goes there.

I'm tired of assigning movies a value. 3 stars out of 5 - 2 kernels of popcorn out of 6 - rent it, skip it, poop on it, whatever.  Thumbs up or down was right for its time. With all due respect, that time has passed.

Movies are inside of us all and in more ways than most people will realize, act as a guide for our daily lives. We quote films to get a point across, to find common ground, to make a joke.  We hang movie posters on our walls, create fan art. We relate to fictional characters, wear their clothes, speak their language, copy their swagger. We watch movie review shows, read articles, follow twitter accounts; some of us losers even dedicate copious amount of time to our own web pages because of movies.

Movies are the greatest medium for storytelling the world has ever seen.

Think about it.
